Today is the last day in May and the last day of wedding month. So I thought I would share some of my wedding picks from my own wedding.

It was an unseasonably warm Saturday in December 2014 (Thank God!). I was up stupid early but I was so excited! I had a tight window and I wasn't trying to be the late bride and I had tons of stops to make so I was running on adrenaline and Dunkin' Donuts (lol).
I planned for a year but anyone who has wanted to be married knows that you start dreaming of this day as a little girl. Here are some of my picks for all the major things that are needed for a wedding. Enjoy my trip down memory lane. Plus, I was a DIY bride. I am a Fashionista on a budget after all.
Dress
I was a bit of an old fashioned bride with a modern twist. I love lace, I love sleeves, and hate long trains. My dress fit the bill perfectly! I got it off of
Etsy and I got it fitted at my local dry cleaners. And I made the veil myself from netting I got from
Etsy as well.
Flowers
I have bad allergies and I didn't want to be sneezing all night so I used fake flowers that I got from
Michaels. I know that for many people fake flowers are a faux pas but I didn't care. They were beautiful and much cheaper. I made all the bouquets and flower arrangements for my wedding myself.
Pinterest and
Etsy were my inspiration.
Shoes
I wanted to wear a heel but not too high because I wasn't trying to fall on my wedding day. And I wanted it to be gold glitter and peep-toe. This is a tall order.
Nine West makes great quality shoes, various heel heights and peep-toes. I have always loved Nine West and when they have a sale I stock up. The Orissa Peep-Toe pump fit the bill perfectly.
Invitations
DIY Dee was on the case again. I made all of my invitations, inserts and all I cut them all too. My husband was just about done with me by the time we had cut them all lol. But we still had to collate and mail them all. MS Publisher,
Amazon,
Michaels,
Etsy and
Staples for the win!
Venue
Last but certainly not least. The venues! I booked the reception venue literally a year in advance because venues go quickly. I got married in my home church which I decorated myself. I used the Marriott. They were absolutely phenomenal and it was in the same ballroom I had my Sweet Sixteen in. How cool is that?
Happy Shopping!
