A Mom’s Prom Musings

Happy Thursday!

It's interesting how our thoughts about prom change as we get older. When we are young we dream about the day. After the fact we reminisce about what was.

Now that I am a mom of a little girl prom holds a new significance as I think about what her prom experience will be. It is scary and beautiful to think about at the same time.

My daughter turns 2 in July but prepping for Prom, I'm sure I will have these thoughts again during Wedding Month next month, I've been thinking about my daughter and how precious the time I have with her is. She's my little shadow right now. They call her a mommy's girl. She's my sweet adventurous little mama.

Time moves fast and soon she will be older, picking her outfits, dreaming of boys, prom and wedding dresses. The gravity of that is heavy. Am I ready?

I don't know but I plan to cherish these moments of sticking our tongues out in the mirror, late night snuggles, her grabbing my cheeks to pull me in to give her a kiss. The joy on her face when I come to pick her and her brother up from the babysitter.

I wish I could bottle up those moments and keep her (and her brother) little forever. I can't of course but a girl can dream. Lol.

For now I'll just take all the beautiful moments in, hide them in my heart for safe keeping and stay up on the trends so that when she gets older I'll be the first person she comes to for her dress.
