Unless you do this on purpose, having a prom twin is the absolute worst! So what most girls, when I was going to prom would get a custom made dress. Talk about $$$$$$$.
I hear nowadays girl are calling dibs on social media. My how times have changed.
It was one of the things I was most self-conscious about when I was shopping for my prom dress. Hence why I bought mine out of a catalog. What teen buys a dress out of a catalog? (Well besides me off course lol) That all but guaranteed I wouldn't have a prom twin. Other girls were not so lucky.
So how can you avoid being a prom dress twin?
You could go the calling dibs route but I have an even simpler solution. Shop consignment!
There are three great reasons to shop consignment for prom. But the number one reason is that its one of one. Another girl can't go behind you to get the same dress because, there isn't another one to get. So, no prom dress twin!
Second, you are extending the life-cycle of the garment. #sustainablefashion
Third, it can cost less. #fashionistaonabudget
