After the sustainability talk I went to hosted by
Stylinity, I decided, today on Coupon Friday, to share all the ways I get my shopping fix and be sustainable. It's one word actually.
It was the one thing they didn't mention at that talk but it is a great way to get fashion at EVERY price point and be sustainable.
One of the hardest parts of being sustainable a few years ago was the price point. I didn't have $200 to spend on a dress then and I don't have it now. But through consignment it makes it extremely easy to afford to be sustainable. Where I can have $50 and score a whole outfit including shoes.
Plus, you can be a consigner yourself. So you're not just consuming but adding to the economy. That's why consignment is circular. The wheel goes around and around.
But enough of that. On to the shopping!
⇓
Top of the list is
Swap! I love them so much I think I'm officially addicted. They have everything and the price point is low. They have a sale or deal almost everyday. Things can start at $3. That's because this is not just consignment but thrift consignment.
Think trendy thrift store that is online that inspects all the clothes for you, ships them to your door and has easy, peasy free returns. Plus, find everything for men, women and children including toys!
Like what is not to love?
So if you are cool with wearing gently loved items
Shop Swap. I have on my J. Crew cords from Swap right now. Only cost me $6!

Next up is the mid tier option that I just started shopping recently,
ThredUp! I live on this site too. They focus on mid-tier to high-end designers - from J.Crew and Banana Republic to DVF. I have gotten a DVF dress for less than $30 on ThredUp and I'm about to score some Ann Klein boots and a leather skirt for under $50 so you need to get on it.
Plus, you can bid on items, they remake items our of old t-shirts, they have surprise goody boxes you can buy if you are the adventurous type, shop collaborations with brands like Reformation and you can bundle your purchases - to save on shipping costs for you and to save the impact on the environment - where you get one shipment instead of multiple boxes that need to be disposed of.
Bonus: All their packaging is recyclable and reusable. Brown boxes, all items wrapped in paper not plastic, even the tape is paper based so you have no excuse to not do your part.

Finally, my two luxury consignment faves, The RealReal & Fashiophile.
Fashionphile is strictly about the bags and accessories. If you are looking for Gucci, LV, YSL, Chanel handbags go to
Fashionphile. Looking for Louboutins, Jimmy Choos, and other top luxury footwear? Go the
Fashionphile. Now that they are partnered with Neiman Marcus they have even more access to resale. They have discounts, last calls and an outlet so they have good price points for almost any wheel house.
Go to
The RealReal for everything else. From clothes to jewelry. They do have shoes and bags too. Manolo Blahnik, Stella McCartney (who is their
sustainability partner), Drapper James, Oscar de la Renta, DVF, Gucci, Yeezy, Cartier... all the top brands for men, women and kids. The have it. I
LOVE The RealReal. And my
Manolo Blahniks I got from there.
Happy Shopping Consignemnt!
Your Friend,
The Fabulous Shoe Maven
