So moving back into the present after our excursion into Fall/Winter 20, I'm super excited for the Spring. Besides the beautiful weather I'm tired of wearing winter coats!
It's hard to believe that March is right around the corner but it also means the last month of winter and the transition to light sweaters, jackets, pretty dresses, pastels and shoes that let you toes breathe.
Today, I'm sharing with you the top 3 Spring trends I'll be wearing this season.
Decades Old Inspiration
I love when past eras resurface in the now. Odes to the 60s ,70s, and 80s were all over Spring/Summer runways. My fave style era is the 70s, but the 60s is close behind. My favorite part of 70s style, besides the bell bottoms, are the beautiful patterned shirts. I may not wear tons of flashy colors but patterned shirts in silks and other flowy fabrics help diversify my wardrobe. It adds a pop of its own.
Keep it Sustainable: Raid someones closet! I wasn't born in the 70s but going through my moms old clothes is an adventure in wonderful discovery. If you don't have a closet you can raid for free, head over to your favorite thrift shop. There are tons here in NYC or visit Swap, my favorite online thrift.
Crochet is Back
I talked about crochet last spring and its back again. When people thing crochet, they often think grandmas and baby blankets, but this is far from that. I'm excited especially for the accessories, bags in particular, and dresses. I love a good crochet dress, in black or white.
Leather in the Trenches
I know that leather is usually a fall staple but I love a little leather in the spring. A great way to incorporate it is in a coat. While I love spring because we are moving from cold weather to warm, once the sun goes down it gets cold. Trench coats are a spring staple, adding a leather twist makes the trench a little less predictable.
What spring trends are you looking forward to?
Happy Shopping!
