Happy Monday!
Man, have we been through a whole lotta change in 2020. Phew! The only guarantee
that 2020 can give us at this point is that there will be change.
Your life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change
Change like what 2020 has shown us is the kind that is forced upon us but
the change I'm talking about today are the changes we make on purpose.
Financial health is just like physical health. In order to make it better you
have to change. At some point you realize that what you are doing isn't getting you any closer to your goal. Only fools keep doing the same things over and over, expecting a different result.
We are no fools.
Way back when, I was one of those people who would buy a ticket and pray
that God would help me hit the jackpot so I could get out of debt.
Guess what? That didn't happen.
This doesn't happen for most of us because life rarely gets better by
chance. What it took was saving money, buying things with cash or debit and speaking to some amazing people who helped me set
up the best financial plan of attack for my debt and then me actually doing
it.
Chance didn't make my life better. Like Jim Rohn said, Change did. Changing my spending habits.
Changing my saving habits. Changing the way I looked at and understood money
through education. It had to start with me.
People often say I don't have enough money to save. The truth is you do but
your not willing to give up something to make that happen. If you even made
up you mind to just save a $1 a month you'd soon realize you don't even miss
that $1. Your money didn't change, you did.
People often say I will never get from under my debt. The truth is you have
to make up your mind and say "I'm going to contribute $100 to my debt every month and keep at it
until it is paid off. And I'm going to stop using credit so I don't add anymore to my debt."
People often say I can't be successful but the true is you have to believe
you will be. Set a goal. Be coachable. Be a student and learn from those who have become successful. Hit that goal. Before you know it, You are successful.
But see it all starts with change. A change in mindset. A change in action.
Until it becomes second nature. That's what makes your life better.
During this season many of us were not prepared for this year of changes. Me
included. Life for many has been and still is incredibly difficult. But if
you want your life to change you hold the keys. Yes, a stimulus check would be incredibly helpful right now but if it never comes you still have the ability to change your life for the better.

You can save. You can get out of debt. You can succeed. You can win! Nothing
is impossible. But don't leave it up to chance. Take it by the horns. You
