This was me just this passed September voting in my Primary.
I know that this is a fashion & style blog but voting is fashionable and extremely important. And on Election Day that sticker is on of my favorite accessories.
The day I became eligible to vote I registered. The very first election I was eligible to vote in I went with my mom, she took my picture outside of our polling place and I went in and cast my ballot. I have voted in almost every election since at every level; local, city, state, and federal.
So many people say, what's the big deal? Well history lesson, Americans literally fought Great Britain because "taxation without representation is tyranny!". Whether you believe it or not your vote matters. If it didn't the powers that be wouldn't be trying so hard to keep you from voting.
That's why I am partnering with Rock The Vote because we want to see an all-time high voter turnout on November 6th!
We are a week out from election day so head over to Rock The Vote to get educated on voting policies in your state, to know what your voting rights are, to see if your state has early voting, absentee ballots, and to find your polling place.
I'm voting because I am a child of immigrants. I'm voting for my mom who, fresh off the airplane, had to desegregate her high school. I vote for my grandparents who came to this country so that their descendants could have the America Dream. I'm voting for my husband who is a Marine Corps Veteran. I'm voting for my kids because I want this country to be a place where they feel safe. I'm voting for me because I matter.
Elections are important and your voice is important because you matter.
